Ravi Wazir has served the retail & hospitality sector as an employee, an entrepreneur and a consultant since 1988 when he graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai and later attended The Small and Medium Enterprise Program at IIM, Ahmedabad.

In 1996, Ravi founded Sun Catering Services for packed executive meals which enjoyed the patronage of companies like Jet Airways, whose flight engineers servicing aircrafts at the Kalina airport required meals on the job. In 2003, he started Phoenix Solutions, a business consulting firm offering start-up, developmental & turnaround assistance to entrepreneurs in the trade.

His articles have been published in Express Hospitality, Hospitality Biz, Hindustan Times and DNA. His book titled “Restaurant Start-up: A Practical Guide”, is presently in its 3rd Edition on

Ravi has moderated the Restaurateur Round-table for Hospitality Biz in July 2012 & also for their Hotel Purchase Conclave in 2009; has spoken on Entrepreneurship at the Restaurant & Catering Knowledge Seminar for Hospitality First in Sept 2011 & also at the Chef’s Conclave at Hospitality World 2008.

He presently supports companies in the development & execution of their strategy, via assignments ranging from full-time business-head roles to mid-term consulting over a few weeks/months and also single-day advisory & mentoring sessions.

Ravi was born and raised in Bandra, Mumbai where he presently lives with his wife and 2 kids.
